Costa Rica Discovery DAY 1. ARRIVE COSTA RICAOur representative will greet you upon arrival and transfer you to Hotel Radisson Europa for overnight stay. DAY 2. SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN COASTAmerican breakfast will be served at the Radisson Europa Hotel. Our transportation will take you today to the Caribbean Coast passing the dormant volcanoes and deep canyons of Braulio Carrillo National Park. Continue to Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge for overnight at Almonds and Corals Lodge.(B) DAY 3. SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN COASTDay at leisure to enjoy of the beauties of this wonderful region of Puerto Viejo. Walking trails, snorkeling, beaches and more optional activities are available from this location. Tonight you will sleep better than the first night at this lodge. The natural noises of nocturnal animals will fill the evening. Overnight Almonds and Corals Lodge.(B) DAY 4. TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARKEarly in the morning we will travel north to board the boat to Tortuguero National Park. A two-hour boat ride glides you through the jungle shrouded canals of the rain forest. Overnight Laguna Lodge.(B.L.D.) DAY 5. TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARKExplore the canals, hike to the National Park, visit the little village of Tortuguero or enjoy a walk on the Caribbean beach. During the months of May through September you can take the optional turtle watching tour. Overnight Laguna Lodge.(B.L.D.) DAY 6. DRIVE YOUR OWN 4X4 TO SARAPIQUEAfter breakfast you will be transferred by boat and road to a local restaurant for lunch. From here you will drive your four-wheel car to Sarapiqui. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy of the lush green areas and optional activities such as walking trails, horseback riding or a visit to the butterfly garden. Overnight La Quinta Sarapiqui Lodge.(B,L) DAY 7. ARENAL VOLCANO AND FORTUNAL WATERFALLDrive your four-wheel drive car two yours to the Arenal Volcano area. Early departure from Sarapiqui is suggested in order to enjoy the different optional attractions of the area including the Fortunal Waterfall, the Venado Caves or to hike in the forest reserve around Fortuna. Overnight Lavas Tacotal Hotel.(B) DAY 8. MONTEVERDE CLOUD FORESTDrive from the Arenal area to Monteverde Cloud Forest surrounding the 12,400 hectares Arenal Lake. An unpaved road will be part of your drive to Monteverde. Drive slowly and enjoy the mountain scenery. Overnight at Trapp Family Lodge.(B) DAY 9. MONTEVERDE CLOUD FORESTDay at leisure in the Monteverde Cloud Forest. You may want to take an optional tour: Walking trail to Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, Santa Elena private reserve, Sky Walk, Sky Trek or a Canopy Tour. Overnight at Trap Family Lodge in Monteverde.(B) DAY 10. TAMARINDO BEACH on the Pacific Ocean in GuanacasteDrive northwest on the Pan-American Highway from Monteverde to Playa Tamarindo, Guanacaste. Caņas, Corobici River and Liberia are some of the beautiful places you will pass during this drive. Overnight at Hotel Jardin del Eden.(B) DAY 11. TAMARINDO BEACHDay at leisure to enjoy the beach, pool or optional tours. Overnight at Jardin del Eden.(B) DAY 12. TAMARINDO BEACHDay at leisure to enjoy the beach, pool or optional tours. Overnight at Jardin del Eden.(B) DAY 13. SARCHI AND SAN JOSEDrive from Jardin del Eden Hotel to San Jose on the Pan-American Highway. On the way you will be able to make a deviation to Sarchi to visit the handicraft factory or to have lunch. In San Jose drop off the four-wheel drive car. Overnight at Radisson Europa Hotel.(B) DAY 14. DEPARTURETransfer from Radisson Hotel to Juan Santamaria International Airport.(B)
